Founded in 1996 by Cuatro Tolson, and now in its fifteenth year, the Texas Polo Team is the only equestrian sport at UT. We have both men and women varsity teams, as well as JV teams. We complete with local clubs, such as Austin Polo Club and Spencewood Polo Ranch, as well as intercollegiately. We frequently play against polo clubs in the Big 12 and other notable colleges, like Texas Tech, SMU, OSU, Texas A&M, TCU, and many others. Both the men's and women's teams recieve instruction from our full time coach Zubair Hamir. In addition, we frequently hold clinics given by certified members of the Polo Training Foundation to help us increase our teamwork and technical skill.
We currently have seven hard working horses that have all been donated to us from various polo players and polo teams. Most of our horses are thoroughbreds, quater horses or thoroughbred/quarter horse mixes. We have horses for people of all riding levels; from easy to challenging. The Texas Polo Team plans to expand the number of horses we have as the club grows. If you or someone you know has polo ponies that need a good home, contact our Vice President Amelia Hiatt .
The Texas Polo Team and the horses currently reside in Dripping Springs, Texas, at a new polo facility - County Line Polo Club, owned and operated by Seth Bray. While we enjoy our current location, the club has plans to expand and develop facilities to call its own in the future. The Texas Polo Team is a club that strives to include all types of UT students, whether they have riding experience or not. Texas Polo Team has many experienced club members that will gladly take the time to instruct new members on the basics of riding before moving on to polo. While UT Polo is serious about achieveing polo-oriented goals, we are also a club that provides a common place for students from all equestrian backgrounds, and those wanting to gain experience around horses. So if you've got a little cash in your pocket and the willingness to work hard, the Texas Polo Team is for you.
We meet every Tuesday night at 8 pm in the Jackson School of Geosciences Building (JGB) room 2.218.
We go over everything from feeding schedule to our horse situation. We have riding sign ups and a brief polo strategy talk from the coach at each of these meetings so it is encouraged to come to the meetings regularly.

Texas Polo Team is supported by member dues and generous donations from friends, fans and alumni. Donations are us for horse care and board, match fees, tack and supplies for the players. We are always accepting any sort of donation that you may want to give, monetary or not. We're always in need of tack, horses, services or anything else you'd like to donate.
